Have existing access panel in 36" wide hallway at 8 ft ht. Area has 8 inch ht metal a/c duct. Customer wants to install 3 hi-hats ( needs to be adjustable, disk light will not work ) on a new lower 2nd ceiling, but existing access hatch location he would try to match is is only slightly off center. Is there any code compliant way to add a high hat fixture in a removable access panel ? Could be fed by m/c cable...
