light switching in large open office

Greetings,
I need to provide local 3-way (or maybe 4-way)switching for lighting control panel override. there are 12-20A circuits in the 50,000sf open office. Luminaires are dual level. Any ideas? I usually have seen one switch per 20A cct. With dual level 12 circuits that's 24 switches! there must be a better way. Thanks,

If you already have a lighting control panel I would look into overriding it directly using the existing relay / contactors.

For what it is worth energy codes probably require that the overrides time out and can not be left on forever.

Usually we accomplish this with a push button at various locations.

so say there are a couple of push buttons at each entry for override. Do I get the switches from the panel manuf?
And maybe I want to incorporate zones. Do you know where I can get more info about this kind of design?

Check out the GE low voltage lighting catalog. They've got lots of options in that regard. Heck, you can even get this motorized gizmo, that once you nit the switch, it will start ticking through all the circuits turning them on or off. These are called "sweepers" or "sequencers". I think most are solid state now. The old ones were motorized.

Lutron makes a lighting panel that has many switching options...

I have a customer with a Lutron low voltage switching system. It's actually made by another company, who's name escapes me now, with the Lutron label on it. They even have it "winking" the lights when it's break time, so the people on the phone aren't disturbed. The relays on their particular system are GE anyhow. Just the "brain" features the Lutron label.
