Greetings,

I am looking to compare some of the lighting control systems that is out in the market for commercial buildings as far as pricing, complexity, maintenance, commissioning, programming and so forth. I was wondering if anyone can suggest me a system to look in or if anyone has a comparison table that I can use, or even any experience with brands would be helpful.

Your inputs are highly appreciated in advance.

I don't think you will find useful comparation. The are so many scenarios what you can use. Solution depends on many factors: small room, open space, entire floor, entire building, what client wants, dimming or not, what energy code you use, control locations, daylight zone reduction, 0-10v or phase dimming, wired or wireless sensors. Go to lutron, legrand, wattstoper website and look for design guides.

So far Legrand, Wattstoper, Lutron and cooper lighting as far as brands. Isn't Wattstoper and Legrand are the same? The projects that I am involved contains sport facilities and operator has to be able to control the light level per each activity. Additionally, We want to take advantage of natural light when it is available.

Blue Box and nLight from Acuity are really popular amongst the projects I’ve bid lately.

I think Fullthrottle would have some good input if you can summon him to this topic.

I asked my Lutron rep about Vive, about 6 months ago. He said I should not use it. My rep made it sound like they were going to discontinue this product. My Lutron rap is always trying to sell me on bigger better things, so I do not always trust him.

Have you had any problems with Vive?
Are you purchasing it from a supply house?

Is the programming similar to RadioRA2 and caseta?

Thank you very much in advance for any information.

i work a *lot* with lutron programmers. i'm on a first
name basis with most of them on the left coast.

have you ever used vive? it just flat works, in my experience.

i have been a proponent of nlight stuff for a while now. i program it,
and i've got about $10k worth of it sitting in my shop. based on
my experience at this point, i'd put in vive. one of my upcoming jobs,
the prints are hosed. 20k sq ft office space. daylight harvesting, and
demand response, and it's an architects office. looked at the prints,
and suggested vive, after the electrical engineer amends the prints to
include "or equal" in the language.
