Lighting for Outdoor Grills?

Well, I'd rather burn a steak than burn my hand. So it probably is a good idea to install one. :)

Actually, an architect we work with did a house and the electrical inspector told him they needed to install a light above the grill. So, the architect wanted to know if I knew of any requirements. Hmmm, maybe it's a local requirement.

If there is a related code requirement, then the code is not the NEC. This may be on the Inspector's "wish list," but I really don't think it is a requirement.

My wife gave me a clamp-on, battery-powered lamp designed for this very purpose. Works well.
