Now, I know a bunch of you have run in to this situation. I'm trying to figure out the best and most convenient way to install lighting fixtures located in the last level of garage, separating the parking structure and 6 floors of apartments.

We are working in a structure that consists of 3 levels of parking, and 6 levels of apartment living space. The structure is concrete PT decks.

In the first two parking levels, we can mount the fluorescent lighting fixture right up to the concrete. However, the level that separates the garage and the living spaces requires the GC to install that 11-13" of BATT insulation. Is there any narrative success stories, or pictures of how installations went. I know the conventional way, to extend a 6" box extension to the box that is already in the deck, in which you now got to work inside an 8" deep x 4" round box.

Is there any other way around this? Is there any other installation that would make this a quicker install to keep my productivity rate down?

Thanks in advance for any and all feedbacks!!!!

Ok, my main concern is extending the box to get a 8" box to work with. Finding a electrician in our company with small hands is slim.

So here is my next question,
Would you consider the box in the deck accessible, if we drilled the center of the cover plate to connect the MC from the cover plate to the box? Then the batt insulation guy covers it.

If you need to get back to the box for any trouble shooting, you know the box is there. You simoly remove the batt insulation, and get to your box.

To me, it would be like working with T-Grid. You know the box is there. you just can't see it until you remove the ceiling tile.
