Lighting suggestion

You may relay the message that, North of Winged Horses, one of the local salvadge yards is removing all their T12 strips and putting in new LED fixtures. They remove parts only, no repairs, let alone diagnostics. The exterior HPS lighting is being replaced as well, and not because of aesthetics. Their Security cameras don’t work well in the dark.

Is that called shaming or peer pressure? IDK.

That sounds like a good plan on the surface but I'm no lighting expert. The lumens per foot might start out looking good but if there are 3 cars up on lifts in the 3-bay area suddenly the lumens per foot may not end up to be so great. I'm going to go with the earlier suggestion and have a lighting professional come in and give me an estimate and suggestions. If they end up being way out in left field I may just go with my gut instincts or maybe some of the suggestions posted here.

Thanks.

I assume you work with at least certain supply houses. Even better if you have a relationship with a lighting rep. They rep lines of fixtures, one of the larger ones is Sesco. Your best and most profitable bet is, you get in touch with a lighting rep, either directly or through a supply house. Bring to them the job site, let them sell the customer and do a lighting layout. Then you merely need to provide switching, or possibly in light sensors. Lithonia, Acuity Brands has a good affordable in light sensor systems that would be perfect for auto bays. Let them do the selling and the expertise. No direct offence against RAB or Econolight, but I don't have the time to be a designer salesman etc. When you supply those all the work is on you. And any warranty work is much more difficult. With a supply house you just pick up the phone.

I ended up calling my local supply house and purchased two fixtures. I presented them to the owners and they chose a Lithonia 8' LED strip light fixture. Vety thin, no canopy and they throw off a lot of light. Thanks for all your inputs.
