lights and receptacles

Greetings everyone. I am a little confused by the exceptions to 210.11C3 and 210.23A. My question is are light fixtures in the same room allowed to be on the required dedicated branch circuits for the bathroom and kitchen areas? In other words, can the bathroom lights, fan, etc. be on the circuit with the receptacles in the bathroom, and the kitchen lights be on the small appliance circuits in the kitchen?
Thanks in advance.

Yes.
You can have a circuit feed 1 bathroom entirely (lights, fan GFCI).
If 2 or more bathrooms, you can:
a) have 1 circuit feed 1 bathroom entirely (lights, fan GFCI). Add as many circuits as needed for bathrooms
b) have 2+ circuits...1 must feed ONLY the GFCIs, the "other" circuit can feed from/to any general purpose circuit.
See: 210.11(C)

Absolutely NOT.
See:
210.11(C)
210.52(B) 1 -3 (inclusive)

Re: lights and receptacles

The key is, 210.52(B)(1) requires receptacle outlets to be fed on those circuits.

210.52(B)(2) forbids other outlets to be fed from those circuits.

Check the definitions of both terms in Article 100. ;)
