Hello
I am not an electrician, I am not attempting to do any repair myself. This is whats occuring. If I turn on my oven, either the oven or the range top (where pots are placed) ... my lights flicker. Here is what I have done.
1) I confirmed the over is on a dedicated circuit with two 40 amp ... fuzes? They are joined together with a piece of plastic. I have switched it off and back on. Nothing has tripped the entire time.
2) I have unplugged everything in my home other than the oven to see if maybe im pulling to much power. This didnt help, the lights still flickered.
3) I took the oven apart, and confirmed the connectors are tight, they are not dirty, etc.
4) I called my power company in case i was experiencing what may be called a 'compromised leg'. They came out same day and said my connectors on the pole itself were very old and looked like they were melting .. they replaced them. This DID help the situation but it started to flicker again, not as often as before.
5) The flickering of lights is occurring, obviously, across other lines. IE the oven is on a dedicated line and the lights that are flickering are on other lines. I'm not an electrician but this seems significant to me.
6) My final test I am considering checking before calling an electirican is to turn the power off at the outside pole, pull the ... fuze from the electrical box on the inside, and test it with a multimeter.
Any suggestions, ideas, or thoughts?
