225.26 prohibits using vegetation as a support for overhead spans.

410.36 allows fixtures and 'associated equipment' to be supported by trees
Thanks Bob. Just for clarification 410.36(G) allows the use of trees as support but FPN #1 dumps you out to 225.26 for the restriction. I checked back to the 2002 and 2005 codes and 410.36 did not have any of this wording. Judging by the hilighted .36 and (B) through(G) it seems they've completely reworded the section.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly you can attach a fixture to a tree with the appropriate box and run conduit to it from a buried run. However, if you stretch a UF cable (with a strain relief) from a structure to a tree you are in violation.

That was a good laugh...except it is happening to me as well. I guess that is what happens when one reaches 30.
How long have you been 30 ? I'm going on my 20th year now.

In your photo's is the UF cable acceptable to be attached as shown ? Is that a screw connector on the EMT ? Nice bend BTW. Did the installer ever work in a muffler factory ?

I didn't post these to show great work, just to show the different methods of installation I have taken pictures of.

BTW:
The pictures that anyone has posted on this site are picked apart by the "experts" here. The reason I post is not so you guys can pick them apart, but for those who may want to be able to understand what is actually happening in the field. Try to look at the pictures people post here for the reasons they have been posted.
I would love for the guys who pick the pictures that have been posted to provide us with pictures of their work. ;)

Sorry, didn't mean to strike a nerve Pierre. It was merely an observation to stimulate more conversation. For the record, I usually don't take pictures of my own work. I know it's good work and apparently the municipal inspectors think it is also. I keep getting paid and I keep getting referrals. The only pictures I carry in my wallet are of dead presidents. Aside from following code rules is there anything else that matters ?::)

More than you have been...remember to respect your elders.

I have lost my long term memory, so I cannot remember the exact number of years (decades).

Pierre if you took that picture then who is that streaker running down the road. My sources tell me it's a ex-student from Hastings High. Any ideas?:grin::grin:
