Does the NEC state that lights be installed over a walk-in cooler/freezer where serviceable equitment is?

I know NEC - 210.63 states an outlet but what about a light?

Thanks,
Steve J

Check out 210.70(C).

It applies to other than dwelling units, attics and underfloor spaces.

I am not sure I would call above a cooler an attic but an inspector might.

210.70C comes close to saying that....

(C) Other Than Dwelling Units. For attics and underfloor spaces containing equipment requiring servicing, such as heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, at least one lighting outlet containing a switch or controlled by a wall switch shall be installed in such spaces. At least one point of control shall be at the usual point of entry to these spaces. The lighting outlet shall be provided at or near the equipment requiring servicing.

Unless you can classify the space over the cooler as an "attic" [210.70(C)] you'll have to check your state building code.

NEC doesn't give alot of input for commercial building lighting.
