this is one of those things that my gut tells me was wrong.
A new PV install has a line side tap on the conductors feeding the house. Pretty normal. However, the main panel does not have a disco to de-energize the bus.
i failed the installation and stated a main was required because the system was modified. I DO NOT have a code reference for this judgement, however. There are 15 or more breakers on the panel too, So the six handle rule does not apply.
Can I enforce the addition of the main breaker? If so, is there a code reference for this that I could use?
This seems like a serious safety issue to not have a main. Thank you all for the help.
