As we were preparing and game planning for the sideline tap, one of our coordinators mentioned a code about having a sideline tap running through the DP side. What is the rule/code for that? I couldn't find anything in the rulebook.

What is a sideline tap? Are you referring to a line side tap or supply side tap? Basic codes for those include 230.46 and 705.11(B).

Sorry about that yes a line side tap running thru the dp side of the gear to get to our line side. Thing is he wants them covered cause of this code.

I don't know what 'DP side' means. But I assume we're talking about switchgear, and that sort of thing is subject to the manufacturer's listing. I have seen a supply-side tap require field listing from UL where the conductors were run through a load side section of the switchgear. You won't find specifics in the code but it falls under 110.3(B).
