Links Not Working

Fact is, the enhanced 'captcha' image verification vB plug-in (which is xrumer proof) has been available for over a month now. It is only the lazy BBS operator who has not installed this yet.

You could have simply provided a link to this patch.

I felt that pointing out that this site is technically way behind the curve to be more important that being polite. This site, while having great rich content, is technically shameful in its operation. Facts are facts. We don't even have smilies that work right.

Can you point me at some websites that are using it? I'd like to take a crack at writing image recognition code for it.

Oh, and I agree with Bob. If you've got technical savvy to contribute, please do. I have an ugly "Employment Agreement" which keeps me from doing much of anything to do with computers.

I can read posts and make posts...that is all I need or want this board to do...anything else has no real purpose as far as this board goes.

Marc, I am annoyed at some of the glitches, but on the brighter side, I've only done without access to this forum a handful of times, and never paid a dime.

I pay my electric bill on time every month, but still go without power twice a winter.

So, I guess the service here at Holt's isn't all bad. :D
 
I just thought of something after reading that the links were disabled because the spammer would know the source of the link when people clicked on it.

Does anyone realize they get the same information from a copy/paste? Unless you use a different window, just copying and pasting (or typing) a URL will still send the prior site to the new site as a referring page.

I know this from experimenting a while back with geocities and seeing the stats that it had on my page. It showed places where I was when I typed the URL for my page--there were no links to my page.
