I have seen lots of guys who could eyeball and bend an offset for a box without measuring and it fit perfectly the first time.

I have seen alot of installations where the person who installed it thought that was the case, but it looked dog-legged, cattywampused, or didnt match the other offsets around it... they may be able to pull it off when its one by itself, but I seriously doubt they are consistent enough to do it ten times in a row on the same wall and look as good as when you use a kicker...

I think 99.9% of electricians who are proficient with pipe bending can eye ball a box offset.

I defy any electrician to make a rack of any size pipe with offsets and other bends to line up perfectly just by eyeballing it. Furthermore, I have yet to see someone make an offset by eye without having to readjust it at least one time.

Oh, for those you have to go to a Pipe Fitter Flip Flop

wholesale house. You have to demonstrate the abillity to

use a "Chain Fall" to grab them like those games where you put in

a quarter and grab stuffed animals with a little crane like you see at arcades

or pizza joints, etc. If your able to grab your Steel-Toed flip flops

without dropping them then and only then will you be able to

purchase them.I think that is cert. programn in the Pipe Fitters union.

But, what do I know I'm only a electrician.:D

No offense to Pipe Fitters, they can beat me up!:D

Oh for you East Coasters that's Personal Protection Flip-flop equipment.

category IV level protection. the bottom of the soles are orange.... when
that wears thru, you need a new set. certified to 1000v.

i can personally assure you that rainbow sandals (san calamete, ca) are
good for 480. not recommended for either welding or cadweld. sorry.
