load calculation

need help on this calc,

100 va xfmr can handle what load on 24vac
100 va xfmr can handle what load on 12 vac

100/24=4.1a secondary
100/12=8.3a secondary

120/100=.83a primary

am i reading this correct?;)

Yes, except you have a typo. You should have 100/120 = 0.83a primary.

Your calculations are correct except that the third one should be written as
100/120 = 0.83
The primary current will be somewhat higher because of transformer losses.

Actually, you have windings in parallel or series. Power is conserved.

Ppri = Psec; P = VI
VpriIpri=VsecIsec = 100[/B can you elaborate on this?

Use a slow-blow, but its value will depend upon the actual load and inrush current. I also might use a negative temperature coefficient thermistor to reduce inrush current.

I never understood the purpose of the comment on series and parallel and how it related to your question.
