Load center with usage meter

Does anyone here know of a load center that has built in power usage monitoring?

-single phase
- 100 amp
- main breaker
- 20 space

It would be for monitoring usage of electrical consumption for billing purposes.

Building owner has 3 tenants that he would like to bill individually. He has a 400 amp main service that could feed these panels.

Multi gang meter base from Utility is 4 months out and the cost to change it is ridiculous.

I can find individual metering devices that could be mounted apart from the load center but would like to get it all in one enclosure.

I may have misspoke. The building owner will receive the bill from the utility. He just wants to be able to charge each tenant accordingly for their consumption.

This $$ amount once determined would be part of their monthly rent.

Many, if not most, states allow utility bills to be divided based on tenant usage as long as no profit is being earned. If not, there would not be much of a market for sub metering products like Emon-Dmon.

But the owner does need to check.
 
Emon-demon is probably the way to go, but do those new Leviton panels have that capabability? I’ve only installed one and it had regular dumb breakers in it. That might get OP into a single enclosure per tenant, however by the time he buys all the smart breakers it would make more sense to just use an Emon-demon.

You need a revenue-grade meter for billing, which the Leviton product is not. They have a tolerance of +/- 3%. I have the Square D energy monitor, and it states the same, but is usually within 1% of my utility bill usage.

If you are simply apportioning a single bill, I wouldn't think revenue quality would be needed. I have used Square D products in campus installations without a complaint.

Which Square D monitor did you use? Some of the PowerLogic monitoring equipment is revenue-grade.

I agree w/ others though that OP should verify with state laws what is allowed.

It was some 20 years ago, might have been PM8 series. Revenue grade meters are not much help unless you also use revenue grade CTs and VTs, which I know we didn't.
