location of bathroom switch

In most of the old homes around here, the bathroom lamp switch is on the fixture itself. Along with the blowdryer receptacle. :)

Immediately inside, unless there is a linen closet door (or simelar) where the swich would be too far from the door, then outside.

Basically, where the print shows, or where the customer wants it!

I grew up with the switch outside the bathroom and I do not recall having a problem with people coming along and shutting the light off.

If you grew up with me as your brother, you would have!

I use to go to the panel and turn out the lights on my older sister to make her mad, ran the hot water at the kitchen sink while she was in the shower too. We had so much love for eachother... still do.

I've turned the main breaker off on my son because he likes to lock me out sometimes. One of the advantages of having the important things on a UPS :)

When my daughter was a teenager she would take long showers and use all the hot water. I solved the problem by giving her a time limit and turning off the hot water valve when the time was up. Only took a couple of times for her to come around. She still hates me for that, but now has her own teens and is more brutal than I ever was.
