Hi,
I'm working on a project, a building with 2 units, one commercial on first floor and one residential on second floor. The meter section is located in the basement. Local code requires a main service disconnect to be located outside building on exterior wall of first floor. It's a 400A, 3-Phase service. Where does the CT cabinet go? by the meter section in the basement, or by the 400A disconnect on exterior wall on first floor? Aren't CT's supposed to be by the utility meters?
Thank You

Have you checked with the utility? Usually they have rules. In our area for instance cold sequence metering and ct’s are very limited where they can be installed.

Here we have to submit a drawing for approval, CT can and meter socket type are specified by POCO. CT can can be inside with 1 1/4 “ conduit to outside.
POCOS are very particular about the cash register.
