Just a follow up. I went to a class in PA about building these log homes. The guys there showed me what they do. They drill each location as it is being assembled, log by log. These walls are 6 inches thick, you have have a 1 inch tolerance for a 3/4 inch drill. Drill hole in log from bottom side to designated area on top side. I wish I knew how to put a drawing on here so I could show you guys what I mean. I can see an easy $40 grand for this job and I think I will still be the loser. I am going to pass it up. Job is to start in 6 weeks.
