Definitely gives less accurate readings.

Possibly gives more meaningful readings for many applications. As a low impedance meter it will help distinguish between real and phantom voltage. Because it loads the circuit it is less likely to be fooled by slightly conductive breaks in continuity.

But it won't distinguish small voltage changes, say if you are trying to evaluate voltage drop under load.
