I just saw these in the new edition of EC. How long have these been out for?

50% faster installation, eh??? Like to hear some comments on these!

Thank you Scott. It's apparent I live in a cave. Have to disagree, although I haven't used them, I don't like the concept of it. I don't like the fact they're just secured to the device by wipers. I'll rather wrap a wire anyday:cool:

A vendor brought in a product like this a month or two ago, as part of their road show of products. It seemed fairly sturdy to me, not just something that would barely hold itself together. In the engineering world, "sturdy" is high praise. :D

50%?

I have a hard time buying that.

With #14...NO WAY.

With #12...maybe ~ but 50%? ummm...no.
That last recept. now needs a splice for some bizarre reason.

I've used the P&S version and they're certainly not 50% faster, maybe 20% faster. They are between 50% and 100% more expensive though.

I say just connect the wires to the device. Why introduce another connection to the equation? It would have to be taped up to keep out paint and drywall mud.

So a plug is not good enough to supply a plug? Kind of rules out extension cords. :D

I would use them in a heartbeat if the price made it worthwhile.

Excluding heavier loaded circuits (bath, kitchen, garage) I think they would be great for resi ....easy to stuff with the stranded wire.....

Good points, however I would not connect until after trim out, so drywallers would not be a issue with me...

I think it would be faster and much cheaper to prefab some regular receptacles using pigtails and wagos. This assumes, of course, that you are ok with using wagos. ;)
