I heard from an electrician that GE is still trying to develop the combination AFCI breakers and that they won't be available till mid 2009.

If that hearsay is true, then it explains why the current GE AFCI breaker is actually a Siemens/Murray with a GE label on it.

That I can't tell you. Check with your supplier. I have never had a need for a bolt in. You could always feed another panel that is not bolt in to comply if they don't make one.

yes you could set a sub panel that would take a plug in style AFCI breaker but the engineer is specting a 22k aic panelboards. Sounds like an engineer problem to me.:grin:
 
And this is why it's a bolt in instead of a stab... Crazy...
Sure would have been nice for them to have been established with products before they instituted this.
I'm sure that's been beat to death on here tho...
 
I have seen snap in combo AFCI breakers. I spoke with an electrician the other day that had to buy two. he got them from home depot, i think

I just spoke with my supplier (I just remembered) and he checked. The bolt in combo arc faults are available.
