Looking for horizontal (“sideways”) recep

That’s pretty cool, but I don’t see the benefit of it. He still can only use two things at once unless it is extremely small cord and if that’s the case, I’ll just break the tap.

oh I'm not buying it I just thought it was a wild design.

if the horizontal doesn't exist it doesn't exist, and I've done my due diligence to prove it isn't available.

I am very certain that it isn't available as a currently manufactured standard or GFCI receptacle.

As noted by several people above, this receptacle orientation is available as an expensive surge suppression receptacle.

I think that the 'snap in' receptacles could work nicely, with a very simple custom mounting plate (flat metal plate with two screw holes and two square holes). Then you could have any combination of receptacle orientations you wish. This would actually be nice for behind appliances with 90 degree plugs.

Finally these receptacles were definitely manufactured in the past, and you can likely find 'new old stock' available.

Good luck with the WAF

It looks like two of the outlets are switched. From photos on the web I have seen, in some other countries switches built into the outlets, so each outlet can be turned on or off. That would reduce power use by electronics when not in use, and protect it from voltage spikes when not in use.
Hmmm, after looking at the Amazon page it looks like there is no switch built into that outlet.

Another expensive approach just crossed my feed:

They have a duplex style

Yeh i saw these and ordered one to put in my island. Wife said i cannot cut an outlet anywhere into her black walnut but i need somewhere to plug in my laptop charger when I’m sitting there so I’m going to put it under the countertop. Fully aware the overhang makes it not code-legal but it’s not for appliances and will be hidden from view. I’m just going to wait until after my final inspection to install it.
