Read the policy carefully. I looked at it (disability insurance) years ago and I decided I would be better off taking the premium and investing it. The cost was quite high for the return.

the policy i get from work is not real cheap. I think it is like $15 a week for $700 a week for STD and LTD coverage.

I looked at my check stub. it is really just over $25 every 2 weeks.

got me. whoever the company i work for got it from. my employer pays for the first $100 a week worth of coverage, and I can buy up as much as I want (within reason). I bought $700 a week more.
