Hello:
I work for a fuel cell company and we are facing an issue with the NEC. We have increased our output DC volatge from 400V pole to pole to 950V Open Cell Voltage. Our Pole to ground OCV is 475V. Our pole to pole load voltage is 800Vdc & pole to ground is 400Vdc. (max current is 1200A) What classification would we fall into when the DC cables enter our inverter cabinets?
Our cable insulation and buss work are rated and spaced for 1.2kV.
If the entire cabinet has to be rated at Medium voltage then we face retraining a large amount of people as well as new PPE and other equipment.
