we are having a discussion on running cat, coax, bell wire in the same raceway.the discussion is in a residential condition.( running the cat or coax in the same drilled hole as the romex) i was to understand if thr insulation was not as the same value it cant be done.i originally referenced art 800.but had a few say it is irrelevant. Here where i live and work its not done.(pasco County Fl)
could someone clear this up?thank you

You can install Cat 5 or 6 or coax cables through the same bored hole in a wood stud that contains NM cables. There is nothing in the NEC that prohibits this.

You shouldn't run non-shielded wire parallel with the romex for interference. I think the manufactures say no more than a foot parallel or best to cross perpendicular. I failed an inspection once for running bell wire for the t-stat in the same hole with the romex. As mentioned not a NEC violation.

Even if the insulation value is the ssme, you can't mix in a raceway. While 300.3(C) seems to allow, please see the note and its references.

Arbitrary enforcement gives them something to do. I don't know computer data requirements and weaknesses, but there is nothing to interfere in a doorbell or thermostat "signal."
