I think during the 70's.
G.E. had low voltage wall switches
that operated a low voltage relay/contactor.
It is small enough to fit in a 4" octagon.
There are many of them in my customers house.
One just burned out.
I can't find a replacement at G.E.com

they could pass on.
thanks

THE STANDARD RR SERIES RELAYS have been in use for over 40 years. They are known to practically every electrical contractor and available at electrical distributors across the country. Each of the GE automation options uses the RR7P or RR9P as the basic power switching device.

The GE web site stinks as far as I am concerned.

Here is a GE page.

Are you sure about the 50 cycles?

Anyway GE still sells them and still uses them in new lighting control systems.

all the one I've worked on have 1/2 wave diodes , if you used them without they would burn out.
