I have a low voltage (12v dc) microwave transmitter and receiver for CCTV to send a signal accross a street. The local AHJ say that it needs to be listed by UL or someone in order to get an approval on the permit. What can I do to get this done? The unit has no listing in the US. It is manufactured in Canada

In reference to NEC 820, the code enforcement should be limited to the cabling and raceway system, and not the head end equipment or reciever itself. Would seem no different then a residentail install where the inspector never sees the "future" equipment attached to the cable system.

Why not remove the transmitter and receiver, get inspection on the cable/system, then put in what ever you want.
