LTMC supporting

I recently had a electrical contractor run liquid tight to a rtu and they ran about 8 feet and used number twelve wire to support it to the gas line the inspector told me it was completely legal according to 110.3 but looking at 110.3 it doesn’t tell me anything about that and looking at 350.30 it says they can use cable ties designated for the use but nothing about using wire. Any help with clarification if I’m missing something or is it not legal according to nec

You can't support it from a gas line, and you can't make wire ties out of building wire to hold it in place. It needs to have its own independent support, or it should be run in conduit that would also need support. Sounds like the electrician is a hack and the inspector is related to him.
