1.) NEC Section/Paragraph: NEC, All Chapters
2.) Proposal Recommends: [deleted text]
3.) Proposal: Remove the term "Lighting Fixture" from "Lighting Fixture (Luminaire)" and use the term "Luminaire" for all related references.
4.) Substantiation: The wording of this term is redundant and adds nothing to the interpretation or use of the NEC. The use of the term "Luminaire" would limit confusion regarding the references involved.

More substantiation is definutely called for, but I'm coming up short. Help?

P.S. One note of optimism: If I'm not mistaken, references in 2005 have already been truncated to "Luminaire (Fixture)"! :)

Re: Luminaire, buddy! Oh yeah!

1.) NEC Section/Paragraph: All Articles/Sections where Luminaire (Fixture) is used in the entire NEC.
2.) Proposal Recommends: [deleted text]
3.) Proposal: Remove the parenthetic term "Fixture" from "Luminaire (Fixture)" and use only the term "Luminaire" for all related references.
4.) Substantiation: The wording of this term is redundant and adds nothing to the interpretation or use of the NEC. The use of the term "Lighting Fixture" or "Fixture" should have been removed during the 2005 cycle.
