Replacing existing underground conduits & wire to outdoor above ground tanks & fuel dispensers - one Unleaded and one is Diesel. They are side by side. The dispensers and tanks have 240 VAC Pumps and 120 VAC Controls.

We will be using multi-conductor M/C-HL with a gas / vaportight continuous sheath. Since the Diesel Dispenser is within 20 feet of the Unleaded Dispenser and its electrical enclosures both systems are Class 1 Div. 2 from what I understand.

Do we need to use the Haz. Loc. Explosion Proof Sealing M/C-HL Connectors for this installation ?

Hello, can anyone comment on this question ? Does M/C-HL Cable with a gas / vapor tight continuous sheath Require Sealing Type Connectors ?

i do not see where MC-HL is approved for use in underground wiring of fuel dispensing facilities in 514.8. MI cable, yes. not MC. is this cable dual rated?

As Master Nater stated: MI cable seems to be the only thing allowed for underground installation in accordance with 514.8 (2023 NEC). MC cable can only be used if ABOVE a classified space in accordance with 514.7. And the underground MI cable would be for both the 240 AND the 120 controls (according to Article 332 Part 2).

But it also states that rigid metal, PVC, RTRC, & HDPE conduits can be used. Does that mean the MI cable has to be run inside of conduit as well?
