I am involved in a large scale remodel of an older residence. It had many recessed cans in the kitchen that used MR 16 12v halogen bulbs. Drivers integral to the cans. Maybe Halo brand? can't remember now.
In an attempt to reduce overall load I bought LED equivalent bulbs(very high quality ones) and swapped them all. I am using Maestro Pro dimmers. In the process I learned these can lights have magnetic transformers? And you'll have to excuse me I don't know much about this, hence the question.
I am wondering if I just opened up a can of worms by switching to LED here? I do see one fixture that has the occasional flicker already. When I first swapped the switches the lights pulsed and hummed like they were possessed by a demon. I called tech support and they told me I had to change the programming in the switches to magnetic dimming. Could I have done any damage in that short period they were in their default mode?
Am I doomed for problems with this setup? Thanks
