This is not an easy question to answer because there are many possiblities. For arguments sake, lets say you have a service feeding a single dwelling. Once you leave either the main panel or the main disco then all the other panels in the house can be main lug panels---the panel will be protected by the breaker at the service.mesarush1 said:When can I use a main lug sub-panel vs. main circuit breaker? What article covers the rule?

Not if it were a main breaker panelceltic said:Hypothetically, would that violate the 6 disco rule?
Dennis Alwon said:Yes, the main disco can't feed 10 panels directly but it can feed one which in turn feeds 9 others
