I am working on an imported boat (ex-UK), that has 2 x 30amp shore power. One feed just the air con, the other the entire boat 115v AC. It has a failed GFI (RCB) rated 230v, 32A and 30mA trip. I ordered a replacement and they say it is 230v, 40A and 100mA trip??? I assume this is for equipment protection not humans? (there at GFI outlets in exposed areas, kitchen, bathroom etc). I am also adding an ELCI on this feed right after the incoming connection as per new ABYC. So....is this RCB superfluous and if yes will the higher rated replacement be OK?
