Please refer to the attached picture:

Is there any Code that says how far the panel must be from the sump pump in the basement? I plan to install the panel right where the 2X6 is standing up, and the sump pump is a couple feet to the right. Is it OK to install it right about where the board is?

Not a problem as long as the panel edge is past the edge of the sump pump so that the sump pump isn't in the working space.

A few things to consider:

1. Ensure the work space distances are met after all the components of the sump pump are installed. Some installations involve piping from water heater and HVAC overflows. If that piping runs in front of the panel, that would not be allowed.

2. Examine if there is any issue with water flow during a basement flooding event. Although a sump pump is designed to avoid a flood...sometimes a leak can run along the floor surface until it finds the sump pump. You might want to provide some kind of insulation in front of the panel to keep this potential water layer from contacting anyone working on the panel.

Looks good, got there first! Plumber probably has no plan but you could check; keep in mind the POCO sets the meter location and you only have x# of feet into the house.
