Very true. I recently had to do 2 multi-family dwellings in Dunellen NJ, and the rehab code saved us a lot of time and money. You do have to be very carefull when applying the rehab code though....
Absolutely. It's best to have the inspectors involved from the beginning to make sure everyone's on the same page. I recently saw a service upgrade where the new panel went back in an existing walk in closet off of the bedroom. The inspector said he had to allow it do to the rehab code.
