So called isolation transformers are not anything really special. Basically all transformers are isolated input to output except for auto transformers.Thats a lot of great information and yes I am in a 90 year old building. Since I am drawing little current in my mastering room , can you recommend a isolation transformer with 240 input (2 120v's) and single phase output
Great stuff. Thanks. I think I am going to use batteries.. any suggestions to were I can get a system ? I only need 15 amps max, but I draw like 2 amperes normally. In other words is there a ac system that stores ac voltage and current in a battery system, that gets recharging from the AC mains?Yep, an isolation transformer for just the audio circuits and wired as a Separately Derived System would be great.
A local industrial electrician might know where to get a surplus transformer. After all you are in N.Y. City.
