I understand you can’t know all the NEC at least most people can’t, but you should have some basic understanding of how to do troubleshooting and just general knowledge you should’ve acquired over your years of being in the trade. It just seems like common sense is gone if it’s not black-and-white, they stare at a wall and can’t figure anything out. I tried having employees I’m done with it my apprentice I can barely stop from smacking

Three hours to put a Panasonic fan and not even wire it just mount it hilarious

Where are you hiring these morons? Are they properly trained and graduates of a trade school or a 4 year apprentice program? Unless they have some documentation it's not hard for someone who is unqualified to call themselves a journeyman.

In Oregon and it is hard they can’t just call themselves a journey they have to go through documentation classes, it’s either four or 8000 hours of work and then I forgot how much class but it’s a four-year program

People just don’t think outside the box after he got it. He’s like ok.

My first moron was hired, cause he was supposed to be some expert electrician from Seattle worked with City lights, Doug tunnels, and all that jazz worked on mines but man you give him a three-way switch. The guy couldn’t figure it out.
Now he’s running around town doing hack ass stuff on his own. I’m fine with it cause he’s an idiot.

This guy from tradesmen and oh my God, they’re crackheads usually he’s good roughin Service work is not his forte

You can’t find anyone around here. I’m at. It’s a retirement town you come here to die.

same here. dropped everyone and down to just me and my son. he's awesome. we go to the ABC national craft championship in utah next week.

i was on a small service call yesterday, and the local schools IT director stopped in where i was working, to say hi to everyone. he started talking about how the kids are excited to get thursday and friday off (and of course every wednesday is out an hour and a half early because of 'teacher professional development'). i told him it's no wonder the kids coming out of school can't work a $@#@%& workweek. look at the example set forward to them by the school and it's staff. he looked confused, thought just a bit and said, "you know, there just might be something to that." to which i replied, and walked away.

The Brit here again. I have noticed that there two types of electricians. There are those who are residential and then there are those who are industrial. Quite a difference I have found !!

I think we have all been frustrated trying to hire good help and people will continue to misrepresent themselves so it will continue to be a frustrating task, with that said, I hope things get better.
