I recently made a temporary cover for a J box in the ground for LV sprinkler system. I cut the bottom out of a small plastic bucket and it fits perfectly. I left about an inch of the sides, so I can tap into the ground around the box. It works well but I know it will be destroyed by a lawn mower come spring. It's happened before. Looking for any type of PVC pipe or coupling with a 7 inch inside diameter to make a sturdier cover. I figure I can glue a piece of dense plastic sheeting over top and add side screws to hold on better. So far I can't find any pipe or couplings this diameter. I could get the metal shop to cut me a round metal piece but that wouldn't give a way to attach it. Wall of the box is too thin to hold vertical screws, which I also thought of.
Any ideas out there?
