In my area you can get Eaton products, or you can get........Uh.......Eaton products.

But every time I go to the supply house, I find another item that has been on backorder for months, sometimes more than a year.

I actually had a buddy in Texas ship me a BR 50A GFCI 2P breaker, because they are virtually non-existent anywhere.

We haven't been able to get a spa panel for more than a year.

No 20A 2P GFCI breakers either.

Had a stint where I couldn't get 200A 3R MB panel for a while.

I'd switch to Square D, but it's a hour and a half drive to the closest HD, to get whatever they might have in stock, which isn't very much.

That's odd. Not being able to get stuff seems like so long ago now.

You can get most common items these days online. It's not quite as convenient as going to home Depot but a lot of times you can get the stuff next day.

Yeah, but for emergency work it doesn't work out very well.

And because this area is so Eaton heavy, probably 80%+ of my service work is either BR or CH.

I could probably work something out.

Biggest thing I guess is just getting out of the Eaton rut.

Then I’ll have to order another pile of Sq D stuff, that I already have piles of in the Eaton version. Just not the stuff I need. 🙄😲😡

At the moment I can get sq D spa panels, 50a and 20a GFCI 2p breakers.

Looks like I’ll be mixing and matching going forward, and trying to keep yet more stock on hand.

One downside is, I don’t know the other brands as well. I know SD has a Homeline and a QO on the residential side, and they are not interchangeable.

Any other quirks I need to know about?

I assume that if I get a Homeline spa panel with a 50a, I can swap it for a 20 just like with Eaton panels?

Homeline quads are lame usually only can get the center breaker tied together

Qo residential breakers are wobbly in my opinion just like tan CH

Both still use wide old school afci gfci breaker bodies I don't care for.

Hey all, this is my first post in the forums after lurking for some years. I don’t know where you’re from, but I’m from Chicago, IL. Most things for me are available on Amazon. Siemens seem to be most readily available at supply houses.

I’ve been seeing BR stuff that is not available at any supply house anywhere, showing up on Amazon. I’m extremely suspicious of that stuff actually being Eaton products.

I generally don’t buy anything from Amazon except books and maybe some very basic stuff, like bandaids.

It’s becoming more and more just a clearinghouse for knocks offs, like ebay.

I won’t buy tools from them anymore.

Why do those 'spa panels' look like the one on the wall next to the A/C condenser outside my house?

Ordered A 50A enclosure with a 20A GFCI 2P Breaker from "A" because no one else had one for a pool motor. When it came in the GFCI wouldn't even fit into the enclosure with room for the wires to connect into the breaker. Was it some sort of knockoff of the Siemens? Don't know for sure, but it would have never been able to land a 50A wire with the room in the enclosure.

This is getting ridiculous. And in all fairness, it’s not just Eaton, but for the work I do, they are the ones giving me the most problems.

I had to pull off and reschedule a job today: Can’t find 1 1/4” flex connectors, can’t find 1 1/4“ female adapters, couldn't get 1” flex connectors, can’t get GFCI BR 2 pole breakers, cant get BR handle ties, can’t get the BR lug kits, multi port taps were a week out……

I got so pissed I packed all my $*** and went back to the office. I went online and ordered everything I haven’t been able to get for the past couple weeks.

It took 6 orders from 6 different places all across the country to get all this stuff ordered. 😡

One of the companies I bought a lug kit from last week for a job, apparently I bought the last one, because they don’t have anymore. And I apparently bought the last 20A GFCI 2P as well.

I guess no one wants to go to work anymore, they’d rather lay around in moms basement playing call of duty and playing with something else. 🙄

Future looks bright.
