Manual generator transfer switch(es)

I don't know if they are still available, been years, like maybe 30, since I seen them but have used a double pole double throw made by Levition for this kind of purpose. Likely wasn't cheap compared to a regular three way switch either. Had a center off position, and you couldn't move the handle from one side to the other without "pausing" at the off position - some sort of mechanical stop made you release pressure at center position before you could move to the other "on" position.

Back then we connected these to the fuel pump circuits at the department of roads maintenance yard. They wanted to be able to fuel vehicles/equipment from a portable generator if needed, particularly snow removal vehicles.

The problem with the 3 ways being listed aside unless you had some pretty well written instructions on when to and when not to operate the switches I can see them being turned off by a well-meaning person making sure all the lights are out when leaving....
