Manufacture's Recommended MOP

Would I meet the intent of the code (110.3(B)) if I provided a fused disconnect at the unit based on the manufacture's recommended MOP than upsized the MOP in the panel to handle additional loads on the same feeder?

I see no reason that you could not do what you are describing.
