I've been asked to budget a campus Mass Notification System. Can anyone tell me how these are typically installed and if anyone can comment on a typical installation. I've installed many fire alarm and evacuation systems, but this is different. It sends a signal over an ethernet network to locally power speakers; each building can produce their own announcements via a mic or a master mic can signal the whole campus. First I ever heard of it.
