Hockey IMO you are still a better tradesmen for having that paper.

No offense, but I Guess! Maybe I'll find a use someday! ;) Since I'm industrial, I'm more of a trouble shooter, so it hasn't been too handy for me. I was hoping for a little extra in my paycheck, since it cost me so much! The test is geared toward someone wiring houses, pools, ETC. I'm the only electrician at work that comes from an industrial background, including my boss.

My cell rings when it is technical, the others ring when it is bending pipe. Which I'm not saying bending pipe is not technical! I can do it, but it takes me a little longer! Jim doesn't even have to measure, he just looks at it, starts bending, and it fits! Actually I'm jealous! But he calls me when something doesn't work.....

I guess I was fortunate, I worked for a company that would give you .50 cents for every license (only for areas they worked in). There was no state license back then and we had jobs in 5 counties.

lol.....I got my masters and found it's TRUE purpose.....

1.) Allowed me to pull my own permits

2.) Take all the HEAT when something is wrong on the project...even if it did not pertain to the electrical side......the electrician always gets the short end of the stick.

3.) the JOY of taking yet another state mandated test.....;)

Take all the HEAT when something is wrong on the project

One of the harder things for me to learn as a foreman, super and then owner was to stand up and take the heat for someone else, it has not gotten easier with time.

Even when I have told someone don't do something and then they do it. Friday an electrician (THATS KNOWS BETTER) used a passenger elevator instead of a freight elevator (with a hand truck), he knew the rules. You would have thought I shot the property manager for the heat I took for this.
