Do you know why they decided on 360 degrees of bends? Well it's pretty simple actually, it's because when you have something like a wire or a Horse's Rein,(Yeah just like in the Old Westerns, where they just throw the horses rein over and around the Hitching post) that encounters 360 degrees of friction, it effectively becomes a "CINCH" type Knot. And when you try to overcome that much of resistive friction, you can damage the wire, then you have it to do all over again.
I worked on a job once where the Specs only allowed 180 degrees of bends, with every bend, no matter how slight, was to be considered a 90 degree bend. Therefore before and after every box offset, we had to install a Pulling "C" type Condulet. Regardless of the type or size of conduit.
