You must count ALL bends. This includes box offsets, saddles, etc... in your 360 max.

At one point, I was thinking of proposing a Code change to eliminate the inclusion of the box offset [since is is so small and the the wires {40%} actually go straight thru].
But one day I pushed a run of about 40' and it had a super bend and then another 90? and then a 22.5? offset and finally the box offset. I got the wires pushed almost all of the way and investigation showed that it got hung up entering that last box offset. So it does make a little difference.

Luke believe it or not we had a electrician (well he thought he was one) that thought that as long as every bend had a bend in the opposite direction it would cancel the first bend out, so he didn't think it needed to be counted. :roll:

Do you know why they decided on 360 degrees of bends? Well it's pretty simple actually, it's because when you have something like a wire or a Horse's Rein,(Yeah just like in the Old Westerns, where they just throw the horses rein over and around the Hitching post) that encounters 360 degrees of friction, it effectively becomes a "CINCH" type Knot. And when you try to overcome that much of resistive friction, you can damage the wire, then you have it to do all over again.
I worked on a job once where the Specs only allowed 180 degrees of bends, with every bend, no matter how slight, was to be considered a 90 degree bend. Therefore before and after every box offset, we had to install a Pulling "C" type Condulet. Regardless of the type or size of conduit.

so you have already got your answer, "360 degrees", that is what the answer will be on a test. In practice, as a fellow electrician, when you have on long run with multiple circuits, it is always a good idea to install a pull box.
