I?m looking for clarification on Paragraph 210.50 (C) of the NEC.
Which states:
210.50 (C) Appliance Receptacle Outlets. Appliance receptacle outlets installed in a dwelling unit for specific appliances, such as laundry equipment, shall be installed within 1.8 m (6 ft) of the intended location of the appliance.
Is there anyway that this can be interpreted to limit an appliance cord to a maximum of 6? feet?
I?m interpreting the ?intended location? as being a construction requirement and the actual location could be greater when move-in happens.
If my interpretation is correct, does the NEC limit an appliance cord to a maximum of 6 feet anywhere in the code?
