Is is permissible to use #4 type THW copper conductors for a service in dwelling units to the maxim load of _____ ???
The back of the book gives me Table 310.15(B)(7) the answer is 100 amps. My question is that sec a table ?? Because if it is i can't seem to find Table 310.15 (B)(7). How do they know its 100amps ?

The table was removed in the 2014, now you would calculate 83% of the service or disconnect rating. What code cycle is the study material based on? You may need to get an earlier code book.

I'm looking for it in 2011 nec its there .. thank u..
but you were saying 83% base off that question how would i apply the 83%
Find the calculated load using either standard or optional method.
Multiply that by 83%>
That is the minimum calculated ampacity of the wires to use after any applicable adjustments and corrections.

The allowable "reduction" is still located at 310.15(B)(7).. look there in '14 pg 160 I believe.. it's just not a Table, it's a % of the service size.
