MC Cable Fittings & Physical Damage

Assuming this isn't the correct MC cable fitting for this application. Also, it seems technically it's okay to support (and secure?) the MC cable by laying it across the framing members but to me in this case it seems pretty likely to be damaged. Curious your thoughts on this installation. Thanks.

Depends on foot traffic.

They couldn't have run that new MC under the board?

And two MCs in an NM clamp?
 
Not the right means of entering the box (330.6 - UL listing), it is missing a securing point within 12" of the box (334.30(B)).

My guess is they pulled out an old romex and put two MC runs in. They are on the same circuit? Probably to feed two lights or receptacles instead of 1.

I would also venture to guess the box is overfilled.

I wouldn't consider an attic space or laid across framing members as likely to be damaged. That is just me though.
