MC cable hospital grade ground wire

If you can use hospital grade MC cable sheathing as a equipment grounding conductor, do I even need to attach/use the green wire? Thank you for your help.

If you mean using health care grade MC in a non health care situation where redundant grounding is not required?

I believe that if an EGC is present it needs to be used.

You either need to ground it or cap it in case it becomes energized.
